To report an error in content currently or imminently to appear on Main Page, use the appropriate section below. Reports should contain:
- Where is the error? An exact quotation using {{!xt}} of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible using {{xt}}.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 15:58 on 18 July 2026) and cannot be adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Actual errors only. Failures of subjective criteria such as taste or interestingness, or failure to divert enough DYK readers to articles that aren't new or recently improved, are not errors.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

- "... that semi-automated offside technology can track up to 29 points on each football player 50 times per second?" "Points" is tricky in such a short blurb, because "football" tends to lead people to interpret "points" as having to do with the score. I suggest the following, but if there's a simpler way to not say "points", that's good too. Add number of edits to the top banner
I am suggesting this edit because:
- it adds more argumentum ad populum, even further encouraging people to become editors,
- it is another interesting fact about the immense scale of the English Wikipedia, and
- it further demonstrates that "anyone can edit," and
- it also aligns with the statistics shown on Special:CreateAccount.
I suggest formatting it like this, considering the number of edits (1,360,032,824, ) changes much faster than the number of articles:
- 250,013 active editors
- 7,210,421 articles in English
- 1.3 billion edits
I’ve tested these edits at WP:Main Page alternatives/(editable). 2600 etc (talk) 03:40, 16 July 2026 (UTC)
