Pushing for better 💪 Throughout June, #SaabAustralia employees participated in The Push-Up Challenge, completing 71,516 push-ups and raising $3,850 for mental health causes. Across Australia, Saab Australia employees came together for #NAIDOCWeek for morning teas and bake-offs, recognising and celebrating the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. As part of the week, employees went head-to-head to make the best saltbush damper, with the Mawson Lakes competition judged by Marius Liddle from MTL Consulting Services. Thank you to Marius for supporting the event and helping crown this year's winner.

During #NAIDOCWeek, we reflect on the enduring culture, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and our responsibility to listen, learn and build understanding. Saab Australia’s headquarters are based in Mawson Lakes, on the traditional lands of the Kaurna Miyurna (People). Our onsite reflection spaces - created by Aboriginal Contemporary Arts (ACA) Studios featuring Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri, and Yankuntjatjara artist Allan Sumner - invite our staff and guests to walk gently, listen deeply, and carry the story forward. 🖤 Wittonga Witu Sculpture, Reed Place - Nestled in the heart of our garden installation, Wittonga Witu Sculpture represents the bulrushes that once thrived in the Wittonga wetlands. This sculpture pays tribute to the Kaurna people and symbolises the interdependence of land, water, and people. 💛 Ngungana and Murlapaka Poles, Echoes of Spirit, Strength, and Story - The Ngungana Pole represents the Kookaburra, a spirit bird in Kaurna culture whose laughter is understood to be the voice of the ancestors. ❤️ The Murlapaka Poles, inspired by traditional Kaurna Shields, embody strength and resistance. Once used in ceremony and defence, these rare cultural objects speak to the resilience of the Kaurna people during colonial upheaval – echoing Saab’s commitment to resilience, responsibility, and truth-telling. 🖤 Kaurna Carved Benches, Resting in Connection with Country. Handcrafted from Karra (river red gum) – A tree sacred to the Kaurna people – these carved benches invite stillness, reflection, and respectful engagement with Country. These benches are more than furniture; they are cultural touchstones, embodying the principle of resting with purpose and listening deeply to place. #SaabAustralia acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the land and islands on which we live, learn and work.

🚀 Collaboration centre driving sovereign defence innovation. Saab Australia’s Sovereign Combat Systems Collaboration Centre (#SCSCC) is enabling deeper industry collaboration to deliver advanced defence capability outcomes. Through the SCSCC, we partnered with Acacia Systems to integrate their Onyx system into our Combat Management System, advancing undersea surveillance capability for the #AusNavy. This level of collaboration, enabled through our SCSCC, not only enhances the capabilities available to the Australian Defence Force but also strengthens Australia’s defence industrial base, supports local skills and workforce development, and helps de-risk the integration of new capabilities into service.
