🤝 Employees from across Rest recently came together for First Nations Foundation's (FNF) Culture & Money training at our Sydney office. Designed for the financial services sector, the training helped deepen our understanding of First Nations cultures, experiences and perspectives so we can continue improving how we serve all our members. A big thank you to FNF CEO Leah Bennett MAICD, and FNF trainers Courtney Kelly and Ethan Mulholland for sharing their knowledge and facilitating a valuable experience for our team. We're committed to helping address inequalities in the super system and creating more inclusive experiences for First Nations members. 🌽🥕Food waste today. Renewable energy tomorrow. The Rest team recently visited Kalfresh Vegetables in Queensland's Scenic Rim to see firsthand how one of our portfolio companies is helping shape a more sustainable future for agriculture and energy. Kalfresh grow, pack and sell fresh vegetables to some of Australia’s major retailers and are about to add a new product – renewable energy – to their portfolio. Through our investment with Wollemi Capital, Kalfresh is developing what should become Australia's first integrated agricultural and bioenergy precinct, turning farm waste and food production residues (like the corn husks shown in the picture below) into renewable energy, renewable natural gas and fertiliser. For our 2 million+ members, it's an example of how our responsible investment approach seeks opportunities that can deliver strong long-term returns while supporting initiatives with the potential to contribute to real-world decarbonisation. 🎂 Global SWF turns eight years old today, and to celebrate it, we have issued our latest #GSRscoreboard assessing best practices among SWFs and PPFs. 🏆 The system is independent, quantifiable, objective and dynamic - and has been updated and published for the past six years, always on July 1. ♻️ Three questions were changed this year to account for relative performance, carbon emission statements, and adoption of and/or investment in AI. 🔝 In a like-for-like comparison, the average GSR score of all 200 funds slightly increased to 60%. "S" and "R" scores improved, while "G" scores stayed flat. 🚨 Governments around the world, including those from deficit economies, continue to establish SWFs – role models and best practices become crucial. 🥇 In this context, we are delighted to announce the 9 perfect-scorers of 2026: - Norges Bank Investment Management 🇳🇴 - La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) 🇨🇦 - Temasek 🇸🇬 - Future Fund 🇦🇺 - BCI 🇨🇦 - Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan 🇨🇦 - Rest 🇦🇺 - NZ Super Fund 🇳🇿 - NSIA: Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority 🇳🇬 Funds are arranged by size, but they are all winners - congratulations! https://lnkd.in/gd_Nsb3X

✈️ We’ve expanded our exposure to Australian industrial and commercial property with the acquisition of a significant minority stake in Melbourne’s Moorabbin Airport. This investment includes around 294 hectares of the airport’s associated manufacturing, logistics, retail and aviation facilities, providing income streams within Rest’s well diversified portfolio. 💬 Rest’s Head of Investments, Real Assets, Andrew Bambrook, says: “The opportunity to acquire a suburban airport in a major Australian city is relatively rare. They are typically tightly held by investors for long periods, so we are pleased to acquire this stake in Moorabbin Airport on behalf of our members.” We’re pleased to partner again with Barings on this investment, who have been appointed as the investment manager, property services manager and development manager. Yesterday, ASFA was proud to support the Parliamentary Friends of Super event, bringing together representatives from government, opposition and the crossbench and the sector for a discussion on how superannuation funds invest on behalf of their members. Enrico Burgio from Rest, Christina Hobbs from Future Group and Lucas McKay from HUB24 Limited each shared perspectives from across the sector, each sharing perspectives on the different ways superannuation funds invest on behalf of their members. Although every super fund takes its own approach to investing, they're all guided by the same core purpose - acting in the best financial interests of the people whose money they manage Thank you to Parliamentary Friends of Super co-chair Lisa Darmanin for chairing the Q&A, to our speakers and attendees for contributing to the discussion, and to co-chairs Kevin Hogan MP and Senator Nick McKim for their ongoing support of the Parliamentary Friends of Super. It was fantastic to see colleagues from across Parliament and the superannuation sector come together for such a constructive discussion.
