What does inclusive leadership look like in practice? Last month, we explored that question with Dr Grace Lordan, author of Think Big and Founding Director of The Inclusion Initiative at the London School of Economics, during a session at our Toronto office. One of the key themes was that inclusive leadership is more than a buzzword. It's about creating equal opportunities, visibility and voice for everyone on the team. Whether it's creating space for different perspectives or fostering psychological safety alongside accountability, leaders play an important role in creating environments where people can contribute, grow and succeed. The heat didn't keep OPTrust from showing our Pride! 🌈 For the fifth consecutive year, we participated in the Pride Toronto Street Fair, connecting with the community, sharing the value of defined benefit pensions, and celebrating inclusion and belonging. We’re proud to continue our tradition of partnering with the Onyx Initiative, now in our third year. Last week, we welcomed Onyx Scholars to our Toronto office for an evening of connection, learning and real conversation. The session featured a personal brand and networking workshop, with practical tips scholars can carry forward in their careers. Moments like this are a reminder of why this work matters. Programs like the Onyx Initiative help open doors and create more pathways for Black students and new graduates entering corporate Canada.
