♻️ A Faster Way to Recycle in Arklow We're excited to be trialling a new high-capacity Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) machine at Tesco Arklow, making it quicker and easier for customers to return bottles and cans. In its first week alone, the Bulk DRS machine processed over 120,000 containers, more than double the store's usual weekly returns! 👏 Designed for larger returns, customers can simply empty a bag of containers directly into the machine, helping make recycling more convenient while supporting Ireland's growing circular economy. 🌍💚 👉 Got bottles or cans to return? Pop into Tesco Arklow and give it a try. Re-turn Read more: https://lnkd.in/d2ZNSUfg

A collaboration we are immensely proud of. Welcoming these incredibly inspiring students to our HQ is always a highlight in the year. The future of farming is in great hands!
Tesco Ireland is the largest retailer of Certified Irish Angus beef, and we are proud to supply Certified Irish Angus beef for the Tesco Finest range. For 29 years, Certified Irish Angus has worked in partnership with Tesco Ireland, alongside our processor partner ABP Ireland. This longstanding relationship supports our farmer members, strengthens the connection between primary production and the final beef product, and helps educate the next generation entering the agri-food sector. Our Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition finalists recently visited Tesco Ireland Headquarters to see first-hand how the five calves they are rearing will progress from the farm to Certified Irish Angus beef on the shelf. Through product tasting and discussions, they explored how animal management, processing, retail and product quality are closely connected. Kathryn Roche, Tesco Account Manager at ABP, praised “the level of what the students are bringing to the table”, adding that it was fantastic to see and that she was delighted to be part of the programme. We greatly value Tesco Ireland’s continued support for Certified Irish Angus, our farmer members and the students participating in the Schools Competition. #CertifiedIrishAngus #RaisedWithPride #TescoIreland #ABP #TescoFinest #SchoolsCompetition #FarmToShelf #IrishBeef

Last weekend, Tesco colleagues and customers across Ireland came together to support families facing holiday hunger, generously donating over €165,000 worth of non‑perishable food through the Tesco Stronger Starts Summer Food Collection. Donations were collected in Tesco stores nationwide, with each store partnering with a local community group to help distribute the food to those most in need within their community. Thank you to our customers, volunteers, community partners and store colleagues for making this year's Stronger Starts Summer Food Collection the most successful to date.

We’ve taken another step forward in our journey to decarbonise our operations. We’ve transitioned 164 of our Grocery Home Shopping (GHS) delivery vans from diesel to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a renewable fuel that can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90% compared with conventional diesel. This means over one‑third of our delivery fleet is now operating on lower‑carbon fuel, and we are on track to reach 50% by the end of the year. Today, approximately 20,000 customer orders every week are delivered nationwide using HVO‑powered vans. The HVO supplied by Certa Ireland, produced from waste‑material feedstocks, allows us to replace diesel without any engine modifications. This enables immediate emissions reductions using our existing fleet while we continue to invest in long‑term, zero‑emission transport solutions. We were delighted to welcome over 150 media and stakeholders on Wednesday to our Summer Food BBQ event, a special moment to bring people together to celebrate what matters most: great Irish food, award-winning quality, and the incredible people behind it all. As the single biggest retail buyer of Irish food and drink in the world, we're proud to champion the passion and expertise of the Irish agri-food industry and its importance to Irish consumers. From award winning Tesco Finest Irish angus steaks from ABP Food Group and our new lower-carbon Bright Meat Company burgers made by Kepak Group, to Blás award winning relishes from Follain, fresh burger buns from Coghlan's Bakery, seasonal Irish berries from Keelings and brand new Tesco Finest Wexford strawberries and cream ice cream by Silver Pail, guests enjoyed a feast of Irish products in the sun in the fabulous surroundings Ella House. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a special evening. #EveryLittleHelps
