Singapore is one of the world's wealthiest countries, yet critical gaps in health and retirement remain. This was one of the topics our Group Head of Distribution, Akhil Doegar, addressed at a panel discussion during the Asian Banking & Finance and Insurance Asia Summit, exploring how the insurance industry can remain relevant as protection and retirement gaps continue to widen. Joining fellow industry leaders, he shared that closing these gaps starts with understanding what customers truly need - not just more products, but support to manage their cash flows at every stage of their life, so they can plan more holistically across protection, wealth accumulation and retirement. At Singlife, this customer-first approach guides everything we do. From the way we design our solutions to how we advise and serve our customers, we focus on helping Singaporeans build #abetterway to financial resilience for the long term. After all, we are in a unique industry where doing good for our customers drives sustainable growth at the same time. As Akhil put it, "We have one job and that is to close the protection and retirement gap in Singapore. If we stick to that path, we will naturally grow by doing the right thing." Thank you to the organisers from Asian Banking & Finance and Insurance Asia, and fellow panellists Shrikant Bhat (AIA), Javier Lastra (Swiss Life (Singapore)), Pauline Sim (United Overseas Insurance Limited (UOI)), Dennis Liu (Etiqa Insurance and Takaful) and moderator Laurent Doucet (Roland Berger) for an insightful discussion. We look forward to more meaningful conversations on how we can better serve our customers in a rapidly changing world.

Longer lives and growing wealth are reshaping what retirement means for affluent individuals in Singapore. According to the latest Singapore Department of Statistics data, life expectancy at birth has reached 83.9 years, while those aged 65 today can expect to live to 86.6 years. For many affluent individuals, this means ensuring their wealth can support not just a longer retirement, but also evolving lifestyle aspirations, family commitments and legacy goals over the decades ahead. At the same time, affluent families are becoming increasingly global, with assets, businesses and loved ones spread across different markets. Here at Singlife, we understand that the needs of our customers are constantly evolving. Through constant product innovation, we are committed to providing solutions that help affluent individuals and families navigate longer lives with greater confidence, flexibility and purpose. Our latest offering, Singlife Heritage Income, is a whole life savings insurance plan that supports customers’ legacy planning needs, while also providing an income stream that can extend to their loved ones. Available in SGD and USD, it allows individuals to align their wealth with their financial goals while providing continued support for the people who matter most. Retirement today is no longer simply about funding the future. It's about living well, preserving options and creating a lasting legacy. Whatever form your retirement takes, we're here to help with #abetterway to achieve your wealth goals. 📌Discover Singlife Heritage Income: https://lnkd.in/gFH39284 #AffluentSolutions #BetterWayforEveryTomorrow #IncomeAndLegacy #WealthPlanning

Great advice starts with the right conversations. At Quantum, our flagship engagement event for financial adviser representatives, around 800 advisers gathered to deepen their understanding of critical illness and long-term care, and gain new insights to better support customers as Singapore enters a super-aged society. Through perspectives from healthcare professionals and industry leaders, advisers got a closer look at Singapore’s evolving cancer landscape, the realities of diagnosis and #longtermcare, and the hidden costs and recovery challenges clients often underestimate. The conversations at Quantum reinforce an important point: supporting customers goes beyond financial protection. That's exactly what we stand for at Singlife. Beyond providing solutions across every life stage - from birth to retirement and long-term care - we continue to strengthen our ecosystem through #Singlife Care Collab, which helps connect customers to preventive care, cancer care, long-term care support and other healthcare services. Together with a pipeline of upcoming adviser engagements and product launches, we’re equipping our advisers with the knowledge, tools and support they need to deliver trusted and holistic advice for customers. Thank you Kwang Cheak Tan (CEO of Singapore Cancer Society), Lee Song Yong ChFC® CFP™ B.Bus (First Class Hons) (Financial Services Director at Infinity Financial Advisory), and Dr Patricia Kho (Medical Director and Oncology Specialist at Icon Cancer Centre - ASEAN at Mount Alvernia) for joining us. Together, we’ll continue to empower Singaporeans with #abetterway to protect what matters most. Akhil Doegar Sandeep Nair Farooq Lone Bryan T. Shawn Tan Manish Thakur Dawn T. At Singlife, sport is one of the many ways we bring people together and strengthen our sense of belonging. From our annual Singlife Sports Month, where badminton and futsal are perennial favourites, to various wellness and exercise communities, we're always finding #abetterway to build connections beyond the day-to-day. During a recent FIFA World Cup 2026 screening at our office, we were thrilled to welcome colleagues from Sumitomo Life who joined us to catch the Japanese team in action. Over a local breakfast, more than 50 colleagues gathered to cheer on their favourite teams, soak up the tournament atmosphere and enjoy the camaraderie. We even caught our latest commercial, The Finals, during the live broadcast. The football may have been the draw but it was the conversations and shared experiences that left a lasting impression. Here's to many more moments of connection throughout the tournament! Cancer is a leading cause of critical illnesses in Singapore and for many, the challenges extend well beyond diagnosis to recovery, rehabilitation and returning to everyday life. We believe closing these gaps starts with understanding where they exist. We were honoured to contribute to the Singapore Cancer Society's (SCS) advocacy paper, “Closing the Cancer Care Gap: Seven Asks from Singapore’s Cancer Community” where Singlife's Jiralda Wee shared insights alongside healthcare professionals, patients and community partners. The paper highlights gaps across the cancer journey and outlines seven priority areas for action including improving patient navigation, ensuring accessible and affordable treatment, integrating rehabilitation needs into the cancer care journey and stronger return-to-work support. It echoes many of the findings in Singlife’s Long-Term Care White Paper which highlights that cancer is among the top causes of long-term care in Singapore. Closing the cancer care gap takes collective effort. We’re glad to support this important step towards a more coordinated and inclusive approach to cancer care and #abetterwaytoprotectwhatmatters. 📌Read Singapore Cancer Society's advocacy paper: https://lnkd.in/gsrzuv5m 📌Read Singlife's white paper: https://lnkd.in/gC_KGDNc #abetterway #cancercare #protectiongap #healthcare #singapore

Investing in our people is how we build a stronger, future-ready business at Singlife. As part of our Employee Value Proposition, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for our people to grow, stretch and realise their potential – empowering them to shape not just their own careers, but the future of our organisation. That’s why we recently brought together our high-potential talent for the inaugural Singlife Talent Experience Programme (STEP) Summit. Over two immersive days, 36 Steppers engaged with senior leaders and global experts through business simulations, masterclasses and candid conversations. Anchored on the theme of enterprise mindset, the Summit challenged participants to think beyond functional boundaries – balancing performance with transformation, and individual outcomes with enterprise-wide impact. This reflects something core to Singlife’s DNA: a challenger mindset and not settling for the status quo. One that encourages our people to question conventions, embrace complexity, and lead with empathy and accountability. We were privileged to learn from partners and leaders on Singlife’s talent council who brought depth and real-world perspective: - Ric Roi (HCLI – Human Capital Leadership Institute) on ambidextrous leadership in an ever-evolving landscape - Mohan Mirwani (HCLI) on enterprise thinking and navigating complex trade-offs - Sally Lemuel, Andrew Ng and Wendy Lewis (BTS) who led an immersive simulation, placing participants in the hot seat to navigate real business tensions - Wei Lin Chin and Helen Shen who shared candid reflections on what enterprise leadership looks like within Singlife - Akhil Doegar and Ashley Tan who anchored an authentic discussion on Distribution & Risk STEP is one of the many ways we are building a strong pipeline of talent ready to lead and drive impact in a rapidly changing world. 👉 Catch the Summit highlights and hear directly from our Steppers and leaders, as we continue to shape #ABetterWaytoBelongandThrive. A big thank you also to our leaders for supporting the Summit. Pearlyn Phau Romil Sharma Yirong Wee Shawn Tan Bernard Low Debra Soon Justin Ho Michael Puhaindran Farooq Lone Dawn T.
