🚀 Congratulations ChemT Biotechnology! We look forward to continuing to work with the team that brings together technical and commercial depth, scientific credibility, and world-class bioprocess leadership. 🌏 Jie Sun Ling Wu
Today marks a major milestone for us. I'm incredibly proud to share that ChemT Biotechnology has raised US$5 million within 18 months of launch, including a recently closed US$4 million Seed round led by Wavemaker Partners. 🎉 🎉 AI4S wasn't new. AI for healthcare wasn't new. Yet one of the most important parts of the life sciences value chain - #biomanufacturing - remained highly dependent on trial-and-error experimentation. Manufacturing doesn't sound particularly sexy, does it? Yet it sits behind many of the medicines that save lives every day. What fascinated us was the challenge itself: Cells don't speak human language. Understanding how they behave, respond to interventions, and ultimately can be guided toward better outcomes is an incredibly interesting AI problem. Eighteen months ago, ChemT was little more than an idea, a small team, and a conviction. Today, that conviction has grown into global partnerships, customers, revenue-generating products, and US$5 million in funding to accelerate the next phase of growth. 🚀 We're deeply grateful to our team, customers, investors, and partners for believing in our vision. This is only the beginning. AI data centres demand enormous amounts of energy and land. One possible solution to this growing demand could be building data centres in space. 🌌 But orbital compute only works if you can get the data back to Earth. That’s where our portfolio company Transcelestial comes in. Transcelestial’s CTO Dr. Mohammad Danesh spoke to Bloomberg about the backbone they’re building: laser links between satellites, down to rooftop optical ground stations, forming a laser ring connecting orbit to Earth. 🚀 Lasers carry far more bandwidth, and the vacuum of space removes the weather and line-of-sight constraints that make optical links difficult on the ground. 📺 Watch the full Bloomberg segment, “The Race to Build Data Centers in Space” here: https://lnkd.in/gQAZFM4d

🔍 When sustainability data is collected well, the benefit goes beyond compliance: it surfaces overlooked insights, establishes and strengthens competitive advantages, and holds up under scrutiny. 💡 This was one of the key takeaways from Zuno Carbon’s sustainability leaders roundtable, which we participated in last month together with ComfortDelGro, Kuok Group Singapore, Motul Asia Pacific, EnGro Corporation, and SMRT Corporation. 📊 Despite coming from different industries, sustainability teams are dealing with a shared set of operational challenges: growing reporting requirements, complex data collection, audit readiness, expanding scope handled by lean teams. The roundtable made clear that the upside of getting it right is just as significant. 🔗 Read the full insights in Zuno Carbon’s whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/gg9WNT77

Succession planning is becoming one of the most pressing challenges for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore. Demographic shifts, talent shortages, and the ongoing Iran war are further complicating the process — widening the gap between owners ready to exit and capable successors. Our portfolio company Oneteam is featured in a recent The Business Times piece on this issue as a new breed of businesses offering succession solutions. Oneteam acquires SMEs and train employees to lead them, offering a path forward for owners looking to preserve their business and legacy. Congratulations to the Featherless AI team on this US$20M Series A milestone 🚀 We're proud to be part of their mission to make open-source AI more accessible, sovereign, and reliable. 🔗 Read their Series A blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gBGNdmca
Two and a half years ago, my co-founders and I made a bet: that the future of AI shouldn't run on a single model, a single chip, or a single cloud — and that someone needed to build the neutral layer that makes the alternative real. Today we're announcing our $20M Series A, co-led by AMD Ventures and Airbus Ventures, with BMW i Ventures, Kickstart Ventures, Panache Ventures, and Wavemaker Ventures. The mission: AI Independence. Right now, AI is concentrating. A few labs control the models. Even fewer companies control the compute. The ecosystem calls itself open but still funnels power, pricing, and access through bottlenecks the rest of us don't get to choose. Open-source is the only real check on that — and it only works if the infrastructure to run it actually exists. So we built it. The unglamorous parts. The scheduling. The hot-loading. The decoding optimizations. The 30,000-model catalog that nobody asked for at first — and that everyone now relies on. We are key contributors to RWKV, an open-source architecture that challenges transformer dominance. Through Recursal Labs we keep pushing the open frontier. We don't just serve open AI — we advance the science that makes it better. What this round means: → We can move faster on the open-source agent runtime — so builders can ship the next generation of AI apps without depending on closed APIs. → We can take our enterprise work into more regions, more clouds, more jurisdictions. Sovereignty isn't a feature; it's the architecture. → We can prove out the fully open hardware stack with AMD — production AI shouldn't depend on any single vendor's compute. The investor mix here matters. AMD Ventures and Airbus Ventures co-leading. BMW i Ventures, Kickstart Ventures, Panache Ventures, Wavemaker Ventures, Sixty Degree Capital alongside. Hardware capital, sovereign capital, mobility and industrial capital — all betting that the next decade of AI runs on infrastructure that's open from model to metal. Thank you to our investors for backing the harder version of this story. To our team across San Francisco, Toronto, Singapore, and Europe — you make every good model usable. To every builder, model creator, and enterprise running on Featherless — you're the reason this matters. THE FUTURE CAN’T BE BLOCKED. Any Model. Anywhere. Anyone. Yours. Watch the film and read the full story. Link in the comments. We're hiring. DM me.

“Why are there so few exits in Southeast Asia?” It’s a fair question, but the reality is more nuanced. We believe that strong exits are still on the cards, but expectations may have been set too high, too soon. Valuations surged, round sizes grew, funds got larger — and naturally, exit expectations followed. So how did we get here? Our Managing Partner, B. Paul Santos, shares his perspective in The Business Times. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gea7WnMV
